Offering health and dental services/resources is an essential part of the Head Start program.
Nutrition
Nutrition services and education are a significant part of the Head Start program. We strive to offer a combination of healthful foods on a daily basis. All meals meet USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines
Special Services
Heartland Head Start offers a community garden, a food bank and much more to help out our families.
Transportation
Transportation is free to all children in part day programs living within busing boundaries. Other transportation needs and services differ throughout our program, depending on the location, community transportation available, and needs of families.
Literacy
Literacy is a key component of school readiness. Literacy skill development is incorporated into the classroom activities each day, highlighted at family activities and offered as parent training opportunities.
Education
A parent expressed how thankful she was that Head Start had provided her child with a safe, clean learning environment. She stated that the program did a great job preparing her child for Kindergarten.
Family
Heartland Head Start offers family services to build on family strengths and support family well-being.
