Free Summer Meals

Children under 18 are eligible to receive a free lunch on weekdays over the summer through the Summer Food Service Program, funded by the U.S. Agriculture Department in partnership with the Illinois State Board of Education.

Bloomington District 87

Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 10, with no service July 4. Adults can buy lunch for $3.

Lunch sites: Bent Elementary School, 904 N. Roosevelt Ave.; Boys & Girls Club, 1615 W. Illinois St.; Irving Elementary School, 602 W. Jackson St.; Second Presbyterian Church, 313 N E. St.; Sheridan Elementary School, 1403 W. Walnut St.; Stevenson Elementary School, 2106 Arrowhead Dr.; Bloomington Public Library, 205 E. Olive St.

Weekday mobile feeding stops in Bloomington: 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Holton Homes, 1404 W. Market St.; 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Evergreen Place, 1202 W. Seminary Ave.; 12:30 to 1 p.m. at Wood Hill Family housing, 103 E. MacArthur Ave.

McLean County Unit 5

Breakfast: 8:15 to 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday on June 18 through July 12, except July 4-5, at Chiddix Junior High School, 300 S. Walnut St., Normal. Adults can buy breakfast for $2.55

Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays through July 27, except the week of July 4, at Unity Community Center, 632 Orlando Ave., Normal. Adults can buy lunch for $2.65.

Children are not required to be enrolled in area school districts to receive a meal. Families can also pick up free groceries at the meal locations.
