Funding

Heartland Head Start receives federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to operate our Head Start program. The funding requires a 20% local match through donated funds, space, materials, volunteer hours, and services from the community. If Heartland Head Start does not receive the 20% match, we cannot expend all of our funds and may not be able to provide all of our services. In addition to federal funding, Heartland Head Start is supported by the United Way and McLean County, Livingston County United Way, Illinois Department of Human Services, Illinois State Board of Education and other grants and donations from the community.
