
Eligibility
Heartland has both full-time staff (scheduled 30 hours or more per week) and part-time staff (scheduled for less than 30 hours per week). Some percentage of the staff at Heartland fall under "other". This means they are volunteers, contracted staff, or there are positions that are available and not filled.

Application Process:
All prospective employees will complete an application form, resume, any transcripts, and three letters of recommendation, and certify the information is correct. False or dishonest information on the application will warrant the application ineligible for employment or for dismissal after employment.
Screening and Interviewing:
After an initial screening of all candidates, the best-qualified candidates will be interviewed by the Personnel Committee. A positive vote by the Personnel Committee and the Director's approval is required for a candidate to be recommended for hiring. Upon selection of a candidate, a recommendation for hiring is taken by the Personnel Committee to the Policy Council. Those applicants not selected will have their applications on file for 2 years from the date of submission.
Offer Letter:
Heartland Head Start will provide a written offer of employment which verifies the terms and conditions of employment agreed to by the organization and the prospective employee. The offer letter shall outline that the employee has accepted the offer and indicate an employment date making no guarantee of continued employment.
Date of Hire:
The first date of employment shall be considered as the date of hire.
